REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (October 12, 2012) – Propel Fuels (www.propelfuels.com), a leading retailer of renewable fuels and clean mobility solutions, was recognized as one of the fastest growing private companies by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal as part of the region’s annual Fast Private Awards. Propel was ranked the 8th fastest growing private company in the Silicon Valley and San Jose regions based on a three-year growth rate in revenues of more than 400 percent. The company currently operates 28 fueling locations throughout California and Washington State with more than 200 locations planned for new and existing markets over the next two years.
“With more than 1 million alternative fuel capable vehicles on California’s roads right now, Propel must continue to grow our network of stations to meet the rising demand from consumers who want cleaner mobility options and a better choice at the pump,” said Matt Horton, CEO of Propel. “We thank our growing base of loyal customers for helping us receive this recognition as we improve access to renewable fuels, and make progress on our nation’s clean energy goals.”
Propel operates a growing network of stations that introduce renewable fuels (Flex Fuel E85, biodiesel blends) alongside the conventional gasoline that most drivers use today. With a focus beyond fuel, Propel enables drivers to offset carbon from their fuel purchases, improve their vehicle’s fuel economy, find rideshare opportunities, tune bicycles, and recycle on the go. As even more sustainable fuel and vehicle technologies advance, Propel’s station platform provides the flexibility to offer emerging fuel types and transportation technologies such as natural gas and electric vehicle charging. Propel works with the very best current and next-generation fuel suppliers to bring responsible, high performance renewable fuels into all its fuel blends.
Along with Propel’s company headquarters in Redwood City, the company currently has seven fueling stations in the region, with one also in Redwood City, three in San Jose, and stations in Fremont, Berkeley, and Oakland.
