Everyone has a stake in reducing air pollution – and the American Lung Association understands that clean fuels play an important role. There are 10 million flex fuel vehicles registered in the US, which are designed to run on either gasoline, E85 (a blend of 15% gasoline and 85% clean burning ethanol) or anything in between. E85 is recognized as an official “clean air choice” by the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest because it reduces tailpipe emissions of nitrogen oxides, VOCs and particulates by 10-20 percent.

Diesel versions of the Cruze are already offered in Europe to great success. This will finally bring some competition to Volkswagen and other European vehicle manufacturers that offer diesel passenger options in the US.
Ford announced support for use of B20 biodiesel in their 2011 diesel engines. Ford’s 2011 6.7-liter Power Stroke engine will be B20 biodiesel compatible, look for the signature “leaf and road” badge.
