Program offers fleets monthly savings on biodiesel and E85 Flex Fuel
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (June 21, 2011) - Propel Fuels (www.propelfuels.com), a leading retailer of clean, renewable fuels, today launched the nation’s first volume rebate program for renewable fuels. In a time when high fuel prices are impacting operating budgets for businesses across the country, Propel’s Volume Rebate Program (VRP) offers enrolled fleets a tiered rebate for monthly purchases of 500 gallons or more. Propel has partnered with Wright Express, an industry leading provider of fleet management and transaction processing, to provide their customers with this streamlined opportunity to further save money at the pump, reduce imports of foreign oil, support the domestic economy, and track the emission reductions from their use of renewable fuels.
“Our rebate program provides fleets with all the benefits of using renewable fuels, without sacrificing perks they may have only seen from petroleum-based fuel retailers in the past,” said Matt Horton, CEO of Propel. “Many other fuel rebate programs have such high monthly volume requirements that small to mid-sized fleets can’t take advantage of the savings. We designed this program to benefit a wide range of fleet sizes, reward our current consumers, and incentivize new fleets to help free us from foreign oil by choosing renewable fuels.”
Enrolled CleanDrive Fleet Card users who participate in the VRP will receive a rebate each month that they qualify based on volume purchases. The program offers a rebate of five cents per gallon for monthly purchases of 1,000 gallons or more and three cents per gallon for monthly purchases of 500 to 999 gallons. The rebate will be automatically calculated by Wright Express and applied to customers’ billing statements at the end of each monthly billing cycle. Enrolled fleets are not committed to purchasing a minimum amount of fuel from Propel and purchases of both biodiesel and Flex Fuel will be applied to monthly volumes.
Propel also offers fleets their free, proprietary CleanDrive™ system, the nation’s first integrated carbon emission reduction tracking platform that tracks and displays the carbon emission reductions from the use of renewable fuels purchased at Propel stations. CleanDrive graphically displays the positive impacts of renewable fuel use including: reductions in CO2, barrels of oil displaced and reductions in foreign oil consumed. The system tracks fuel usage across Propel’s network of fueling stations, enabling businesses and government fleets to easily quantify the positive impacts of their decision to use low-carbon fuels, and in some cases meet mandated or voluntary fleet emission reduction goals. Propel, the West Coast’s leading retailer of E85 Flex Fuel and biodiesel, is focused on building the infrastructure that is the critical link between fleets, consumers and renewable fuels. As construction begins on advanced biofuel production facilities across the country, Propel’s network of stations will connect the drivers with the next generation of low carbon fuels made from non-food sources such as agricultural byproducts and household waste. The company operates its Clean Fuel Points (stations) throughout California and Washington State, with more than 75 sites planned across California over the next year. There are more than 20 million alternative fuel-capable vehicles on America’s roads today; however, the majority of them do not have convenient access to renewable fuels.
Headquartered in Redwood City, California, Propel builds, owns and operates a network of Clean Fuel Points – green-built, self-serve filling stations providing convenient access to clean, American, low carbon fuels. The company offers drivers and fleets a cleaner fuel choice that makes progress towards lowering America’s dependence on foreign oil, reducing carbon emissions, and creating jobs. Propel has also developed CleanDrive™, the nation’s first integrated carbon emission reduction tracking platform. Propel operates a growing network of locations providing cleaner mobility options in California and Washington State. More information is available at www.propelfuels.com.
