The two leading renewable fuel brands have come together to offer Solazyme’s algae-based Soladiesel®BD to drivers through Propel’s Bay Area network of retail renewable fuel locations. The month-long pilot program provides the industry’s first opportunity to test consumer response to this advanced renewable fuel.

WHY:
For the first time in the nation, Propel & Solazyme are offering a new choice to California drivers: premium quality, low carbon, algae-derived biodiesel for their vehicles. In four markets across the Bay Area, drivers will be able to choose Propel B20 biodiesel made from Solazyme’s 100% algae-derived Soladiesel®BD.

• This is a month-long product premiere.
• This B20 blend of algae-based biodiesel will be sold in line with today’s pricing, at Propel’s Redwood City, San Jose (Downtown), Berkeley, and Oakland stations.
• “After the pump” surveys to Propel customers will help the partners to understand consumer perceptions of, and interest in, algae-based fuels (and other advanced biofuels).
