“Love, the Bus” Returns to Propel
Our friends at “Love, the Bus” swung through Propel Wilmington for another drink of B5 before heading for the American South. Keep on bussin’!
Love Bussers Tyler, Corey, Seth & company fill up in Wilmington.
“Love, the Bus” is a cross-country charity project incepted by Maine natives Tyler Dunham, Seth Brown, and Corey McLean—a trio with a mission to bring their youthful energy and creativity to local organizations across the nation.
Per the group’s website: “We’re documenting our journey though daily video updates that you can interact with. Every week, we’ll be completing a challenge to creatively fund local organizations near where that challenge is completed. All of our challenges, most of the money we distribute, and our road map, will be dictated by our viewers – YOU.”
Fueling their mission is the “Love, the Bus” bus, itself—a behemoth in green powered by none other than waste veggie oil—and the occasional tank of Propel biodiesel.
“We’ve been touring the country on a huge “adventure for good”—while traveling on our big, green bus we’ve been spreading a message of optimism and environmental sustainability,” said Kelsey Aroian of the Love Bus crew. “We are trying to leave the slightest carbon footprint possible so our bus runs on both diesel and waste vegetable oil. We’re proud to spread the good word about alternative fuels on our journey. Diesel (or preferably biodiesel) is necessary to heat up our WVO system before we can run on vegetable oil, so it is always necessary to have a substantial reserve on board. We received our first batch of biodiesel in California from Propel Fuels and heard about the fantastic CleanDrive program. We’re excited to join with them in their efforts toward cleaner fuels and a healthier planet!”
