The IT System Administrator serves as a lead resource of supporting Propel’s technology infrastructure in a fast paced environment. This person will be responsible for day-to-day administration and maintenance of LAN/WAN, data centers, servers and voice systems including Telco. This role is also responsible for providing technical support to all Propel employees both local and remote.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Completion of the Microsoft Certified Software Engineer (MCSE) certification or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years proven work experience maintaining Microsoft based enterprise applications and systems.
  • Full understanding of network protocols including switching, routing, TCP/IP, ACL, VPN, etc.
  • Must have working knowledge of UNIX (various flavors) and Mac OS X.
  • Experience with enterprise-level LAN/WAN networking and ability to create documentation with Visio.
  • Experience with telecommunication (PBX/VoIP) systems and standards, including knowledge of PRI, ACD, IVR and CTI is a plus.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, PHP and administrative scripting skills (Perl, UNIX shell, DOS, Windows PowerShell scripting) is a plus.

District Manager Southern California

Mobility in changing, and our stations offer a distinctly different experience, providing a selection of high-performance, premium-quality, renewable fuels and clean mobility solutions at locations convenient for today’s drivers.  Propel operates a fast-growing network of Clean Fuel stations in Washington State and California. Growing this service network keeps us busy and as a result we now have a need to add a District Manager in Southern California.

The District Managers are responsible for the successful operations and performance of Propel’s Clean Mobility Centers and Clean Fuel Points in their assigned district.

Job Responsibilities

  • First and foremost be a Propel Brand Ambassador
  • Ensure the delivery of Operational Excellence (brand standards, flawless execution) through Propel’s site operators, site tenants and contracted third parties
  • Deliver site P&L performance that meets or exceeds budget
  • Provide input on volume and margin management to maximize operating contribution
  • Deliver Fleet sales growth; identify, harvest and convert prospects to regular customers
  • Maintain and leverage productive relationships with regulatory agency, government and business contacts within District
  • Minimize downtime/maximize uptime at sites via interface with Operations Support Team
  • Provide competitive pricing and general market intelligence
  • Partner with Marketing and Operations on special events, projects and ongoing marketing activity

Qualifications

Real Estate Manager Northern California

The Real Estate Manager will be responsible for market research and planning, site selection, relationship management, negotiations and documentation for the purchase or lease of new sites in designated areas. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director of Real Estate to analyze market areas and assist in the development of strategic plans for potential new sites.
  • Review, analyze, and present recommendations to the Director of Real estate for potential site acquisitions, and other matters affecting proposed and existing locations.
  • Evaluate and investigate site locations (demographics, traffic patterns, station volume, etc.).  Assist in the interpretation of data relating to population trends, area property values, man-made and natural barriers, competition, and other pertinent information.
  • Develop working relationships with government officials, station personnel and neighborhood groups to ensure the company’s best opportunity of being successful.
  • Coordinate due diligence paperwork with the Director of Real Estate and the Vice President of Construction & Development. Assemble deal packages for approval by the Director of Real estate.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of commercial real estate experience along with an ability to interpret and evaluate the potential success of a location.  Experience in retail fueling a plus.
  • A Bachelor degree in a business related discipline
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) with an ability to effectively develop and deliver presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to exercise frequent independent judgment essential.
  • Must be highly organized, with ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high paced working environment.  Strong time management skills with an ability to structure and prioritize his/her workload appropriately.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software applications

Controller

Job Description

This position will report to the CFO and will be based in our corporate offices in Redwood City. The Controller will manage all aspects of the financial activities; including but not limited to: month end closings, preparing financial statements and management reports, providing analysis for budgeting and forecasting, directing cost controls and maintaining sub-ledgers. The Controller is also responsible for preparing the company’s financial policies, its accounting practices, operational relationships with lending institutions, periodic contract review, accounts payable, accounts receivable/collections, and insurance. The position involves hands-on general accounting/bookkeeping, cost accounting, payroll, and budgetary controls.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Four to eight years experience as a senior professional accountant with experience at the managerial level. Knowledge of retail industry and fuel accounting requirements preferred.
  • CPA with preference for an advanced degree in accounting, business or a related area preferred.
  • Excellent technical accounting skills and knowledge (including FASB, IRS regulations, etc.)
  • Proven ability to successfully lead a group of professionals with emphasis on the ability to manage a culturally diverse work force. Must have excellent track record in building effective teams.
  • Experience implementing ERP software systems preferred.
  • Excellent relationship management abilities; the ability to manage through influence and persuasion at all levels of anorganization.
  • Ability to understand and direct the information needs of management and provide meaningful reports and analyses.
  • Proven ability to develop, maintain, and communicate accurate reporting of financial information.
  • Understanding of necessary systems and procedures to support internal control and external reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills coupled with negotiation skills necessary to formulate policies and programs and arrive jointly at solutions with clients and stakeholders.
